Spencer Lai (AU)
Spencer Lai is a Malaysian-Australian artist based in Melbourne interested in the impact of consumerism, cultural objects, and ephemera on identity. His work engages with a range of artistic mediums, including sculptural compositions, drawing, installation and expanded paintings to explore connections between design, education, desire, and the self. Current and recent exhibitions include Writing Clothes: An Exhibition of Fashion Text at the Fashion Research Library and National Museum, Oslo; SCA Gallery, Sydney; Theta, New York; Neon Parc, Melbourne; and Holden Garage, Berlin.
