The ongoing PhD project “Level Up”, which focuses on ornaments, woodcarving, cabinetry, and writing, in the making of Curious Cabinets, is hatched from Bjørn Jørund Blikstad’s (b.1981) former teaching at Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2010—2018), his own education at the same departement (2004—2009) and freelance designer work (2010—2019) as a consequence of the maladap­tive jugling of commercial and academic values.
